Create your first EL wire project

In this workshop you'll learn everything you need to start working with EL wire.

You'll get hands on experience with different types of wire and drivers, and you'll solder up your first EL wire project to take home. All materials and tools will be provided.

Add the optional Experimenter's Kit and you'll also get an assortment of EL wire, drivers, materials and simple tools to continue your experimenting at home, for only $35!

  • EL wire - how to choose the right gauge of wire for your project
  • Drivers - Learn the differences between all the drivers that are available
  • Soldering Hands-On - Solder and light up your first piece of EL wire
  • Advanced solder joints
    • Creating a joint between two pieces of EL wire
    • Connect multiple pieces of EL wire to one connector
  • Open question & answer period
Materials provided:
  • 5 feet of 2.5mm EL wire, (random color selection)
  • 1AA Handheld driver
  • Wire-side connector
  • Shrink tubing
  • Copper foil tape
